Prevalence of Schizotypal Personality Disorder

  • Between 30% and 50% of people with schizotypal personality disorder also have a major depressive disorder. A second personality disorder, such as paranoid personality disorder, is also common with this condition. 12
  • This disorder occurs more frequently in individuals who have an immediate family member with schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders.13
  • There is a higher incidence of this condition among monozygotic twins than dizygotic twins: 33% versus 4% according to one study. 14
