Incidence and Prevalence of Schizoid Personality Disorder

Schizoid personality disorder is less prevalent than other personality disorders in the clinical settings. Its incidence is below 1% - 3% of the entire population. It is difficult to have an accurate assessment of its prevalence because of several modifications in the diagnostic criteria and the unlikelihood of individuals with the disorder to seek treatment. Schizoid personality disorder is more common in men than in women. 10
