The symptoms that come with narcissism may often be misconstrued as one with normally strong self esteem and confidence but with narcissistic personality disorder, the person exhibits this behavior as one that crosses beyond the borders of healthy confidence and self esteem that they value themselves too much more than they value others. But behind the grandiosity projected by a narcissist is a fragile self esteem. Narcissists have a secret shame and humiliation, and in order to make themselves appear better than others they usually react in rage and contempt in belittling others.
