Make prompt initial treatment; the majority of people with lifetime mental disorders eventually seek treatment if the disorder persists. As a result, most cases become irreversible.
Increase knowledge about the disorder: read informative materials and join support groups to gain a better understanding of a person with the disorder.
Show support and care to such individuals for it is the best way to help them with their condition.
Divert attention from impulses
See your physician or therapist on a regular basis; skipping therapeutic sessions may cause interruptions of the healing process.
Take medication regularly.
