  • Aim for a healthy, flexible, and balanced lifestyle rather than adhering strictly to cultural standards of beauty or body weight and shape
  • Seek out counseling or therapy to deal with unresolved issues
  • Seek out the support of friends and loved ones
  • Improve interpersonal skills
  • Improve interpersonal relationships
  • Find other ways of relieving anxiety other than food
  • Learn some relaxation techniques
  • Cultivate some mindfulness through meditation and other mindfulness strategies
  • Keep a journal or diary of thoughts and feelings throughout the week to help in identifying triggers of binge-eating and to process one’s own thoughts
