Anxiety Disorder NOS Diagnosis
(Also Known As: Anxiety Disorder Not Otherwise Specified Diagnosis, Adjustment Disorder Diagnosis, Anxiety Disorder Diagnosis, Social Anxiety Disorder Diagnosis)
(Reviewed by: Paul Peterson, Licensed Therapist)
How is Anxiety Disorder NOS Diagnosed?
The diagnosis for anxiety disorder NOS is made when the symptoms manifested by the patient do not meet the standard criteria designated for each specific anxiety disorder category as stated from the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder. It is important that all diagnostic tools and tests must be performed in order to rule out the presence of other forms of anxiety disorders before the clinician can make an Anxiety Disorder NOS diagnosis.
